Master Builders South Africa (MBSA)

This association was previously called the Building Industries Federation of South Africa (Bifsa) and is now called Master Builders South Africa (MBSA).MBSA is the leading national representative body in the building and construction industry in South Africa. It operates as Federation of registered employer Associations representing contractors and employers in the construction industry, and is regulated in terms of Section 107 of the Labour Relations Act 66 of 1995. The Federation’s nine Master Builders Associations, and three Affiliate Associations represent more than 4000 contractors and employers in the industry.

Master Builders Association North (MBA North)

The Pretoria Master Builders Association was founded in 1903 and the Johannesburg Master Builders Association was founded in 1894 and was formally constituted in 1904. These organisations merged in January 1996 to form the Gauteng Master Builders Association (GMBA). In 2012, the association underwent a name change and is now known as the Master Builders Association North – incorporating the following 4 regions: Gauteng, North West, Mpumalanga and Limpopo.

South African Institute of Architects – Eastern Cape (SAIAEC)

The SAIA – Eastern Cape Institute of Architectes, formerly known as the Port Elizabeth Society of Architects was founded in 1900 with affiliation to, and with a constitution based on that of the Royal Institute of British Architects. In 1927 The Port Elizabeth Society of Architects became the Port Elizabeth Local Committee of the Cape Provincial Institute of Architects and in 1990 the Constitution of the Institute of South African Architects was amended and the institute, as currently constituted, came into being.

Members of the ECIA subscribe to a strict code of conduct to ensure the public of the highest standards in professional practice. Having the advantage of institutional support, collective experience, continued professional development and international affiliations to draw from, members are able to maximize client’s benefit through competency, expertise and integrity.

Cement and Concrete South Africa (CCSA)

Cement & Concrete SA (CCSA) is the new consolidated body which will take the lead on all matters relating to cement and concrete in South Africa. The single non-profit entity, CCSA, was established in March 2021 through the consolidation of The Concrete Institute (TCI), Concrete Society of Southern Africa (CSSA), and the Association of Cementitious Material Producers (ACMP).

Black Business Council in the Built Environment (BBCBE)

The Black Business Council in the Built Environment (BBCBE) is the apex organization of black construction and professional organizations in the country. Established in 2007, one of its main objectives is to engage government and other statutory bodies to influence the drafting and implementation of appropriate legislation in order to create an enabling environment for the black constituency in the building and construction industry.
