Every year, the ICSA and Indoor Cricket Arena’s, host various National Tournaments around the country.Teams are selected per Province and on a trial basis. This is normally a few months prior to the tournament. These players are selected from the arenas within that region. The Ile de France is a large, smooth-bodied, polled mutton sheep. The breed is renowned for its unique carcass qualities, excellent growth rates, as well as high fertility and good mothering abilities. The Islamic Social Welfare Association was formed in 1996 to seek solutions for the social problems amongst Muslims and its negative effects on society. Miss Gadija Fredericks and Mrs Nurounihaar Mintin co-ordinated a meeting with the Muslim Judicial Council where Imams, Social Workers and Community Workers, all voiced their concerns and attempted to start a structure to address these concerns.
There was an unanimous appeal for a professional social work agency that would use a model that integrated social science with in the Islamic framework. The meeting resulted in nine Muslims fully committing themselves to the establishment of such a structure.
The primarily aim of this structure was to address marital problems. This was to be achieved through pre-marital counselling, providing a treatment for marriages under stress and providing post divorce guidance for couples (especially women) who were left destitute. The overwhelming need for proper social services in all areas of social disfunctioning let ISWA to broaden its vision to include other counselling as well.Continue reading →

The International Womens Club of Cape Town is a worldwide organisation that stretches into an astonishing 42 countries.
Our own club here in Cape Town was founded in 1977. As an organisation, we are non-political, non-denominational and non-commercial and the club is a registered non-profit organisation.
With a membership of over 340 women from 35 countries the IWC of Cape Town is about friendship, support and encouragement along with the promise of stimulation, learning and fun!
We are first and foremost a friendship club. Our activities are about social interaction that have a specific focus or theme such as cultural, educational, recreational activities both indoors (such as bridge and mahjong) and outdoors (such as tennis and hiking) or tourism. Understanding and learning about our different cultures is an important aspect of who we are so we often get together to share a meal, a more formal talk or an personal aspect of our particular culture as part of a Cultural Exchange programme.
