It is an association member of SAMED representing local manufacturers only. MDMSA exists to grow the locally manufactured content of this industry sector within South Africa as well as equip our members to compete internationally. In so doing, MDMSA works closely with The Department of Health, and the Department of Trade and Industry (The dti)to leverage the various mechanisms that exist to assist the government identified priority sector that is Medical Technology.
MDMSAs work focuses on the Economic Growth of the industry, Regulatory, Ethical and Quality Compliance, International Business Development, and Innovation Support within the Medical Device and Medical Technology fields.
Continue reading →The Medical Device and Diagnostic Innovation Cluster (MeDDIC) is a national initiative created to exploit a high concentration of skills, expertise, infrastructure and companies across South Africa within the medical devices field. The initiative, supported by the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) and the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI), is aimed at stimulating and intensifying technology innovation within the sector as well as encouraging an integrated ecosystem in support of increasing the competitiveness of the industry. It is hosted by the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) under the Global Health Innovation Accelerator (GHIA) program.

It is a voluntary, non-profit organisation whose members are South African and International Generics based Pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors. The NAPM/GBM has a diverse membership comprising of manufacturing, importing and regulatory companies. Part of the NAPM/GBM’s function is to ensure that the sector plays a constructive role in our country’s economic growth, development and transformation and thereby create an environment in which the sector can thrive, expand, be competitive and enhance access of medicines to all of our country’s citizens.

Epilepsy South Africa is the only national non-profit organisation in the country focussing exclusively on rendering specialised and comprehensive services to people living with epilepsy and other disabilities, including education and economic empowerment through job creation and entrepreneurship- and skills training suited to almost any level of development. They are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of people living with and affected by epilepsy as well as other disabilities.
The organisation renders vital services to numerous South Africans who, in addition to living with epilepsy, have multiple challenges ranging from mild to profound intellectual disability, Down Syndrome, hydrocephalus and speech impairments to physical and psychiatric disabilities such as schizophrenia
EDSA organisations render a basket of eating disorder treatment services including both in and out-patient services to aftercare for eating disorders.
