Chartered Institute for Professional Practitioners and Trainers (CIPPT)

CIPPT is an independent non-profit quality-focused company for learning and development professionals that encourages high standards of performance and professionalism in all aspects of ETDP and the broader training community through sharing of relevant information, continuous professional development and promotion of best practice. CIPPT aims to ensure professional conduct of the highest standard amongst all ETDP practitioners by virtue of acting as the professional body to register practitioners and trainers, and develop and design applicable qualifications and designations to enhance and uphold these standards of quality delivery.
CIPPT is is a non-statutory, SAQA-recognised professional body.
They have three professional designations:

  1. Occupational Directed Professional Practitioner;
  2. Occupational Directed Master Practitioner;

Confederation of Associations in the Private Employment Sector (CAPES)

The Confederation of Associations in the Private Employment Sector (CAPES) is an umbrella body, formed in 2002, when the need for a unified voice for the South African staffing industry became apparent. CAPES was created specifically to act as the lobbying organisation for the four primary staffing associations, who represent thousands of SME staffing businesses, and several of South Africa’s largest corporate staffing companies. CAPES, as a member of Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) and the Black Business Council (BBC), has been at the forefront of the negotiations in respect to the staffing industry (since 2006) and extensively during the current broad labour law review.
