Continue reading →The Landscape Irrigation Association, formerly known as the TIwas formed in 1983. From humble beginnings in Gauteng, it has become the nationally recognised mouthpiece of the landscape irrigation industry.
The primary objective of the Association is to improve and uphold professionalism and standards in the industry. To this end a comprehensive Code of Conduct and Code of Standards has been compiled. The standards are benchmarked against the best global standards and are continually expanded and updated to keep pace with technological advances in the industry.
The LIA Membership encompasses all spheres of the industry. These include irrigation contractors, irrigation distributors, landscape architects, piping and other irrigation equipment providers. Regular meetings are held, in which members are encouraged to participate and network with their peers in the industry. To facilitate an ongoing educational programme, specialists are invited to give presentations on various important aspects in the industry.

LMA is an affiliate member of S.A.G.I.C. (South African Green Industries Council), and OPEA (Outdoor Power Equipment Association), the Association of manufacturers and importers of equipment in South Africa. This association is legally registered as the Lawn Mower Association of South Africa (LMA). Members collectively agreed to trade as the Outdoor Power Product Association of South Africa (The OPPASA).

After consideration (backed by a legal opinion) the Management Team agreed to register the LFWA as a Constituted Association and not a company- not for gain. Its key functions are to lobby, advise and advocate on matters relating to the Liquid Fuels Industry – in particular on liquid fuels wholesaling matters. To educate and engage stakeholders on issues relating to the liquid fuels sector throughout the value chain, through work shops / seminars and social media platforms – focusing on issues that impact directly on the wholesaler. The LFWA is an independent recognized body that ensures liquid fuels wholesalers operate in an environment that is com plaint to all relevant legislation. Participate fully in all legislation / regulation interactions ensuring sustainability of the liquid fuels industry.
