Packaging Council of South Africa (PACSA)

Packaging SA is a voluntary industry body. Its members are in two broad categories, Converters and Associates. The Converters represent some 70% of the revenue generated by the industry. Associates are in effect the major raw material suppliers, material organizations, brand owners, retailers and other organizations and associations with interests in the packaging industry. Collectively this body directly employs some 60 000 people in South Africa.

Packaging SA represents views of its members on National issues with particular focus on environmental matters.

Natal Performing Arts Council (NAPAC)

Founded 25th July 1963 with 4 Departments (DramOperMusic, Ballet) under Chris Lombard as first Director. Registered as a society not for gain, it was headed by a policy-making council chaired by the provincial administrator and representative of all interested parties, including the province, the city municipalities of Durban and Pietermaritzburg, the department of national education, the business sector as well as representatives of the various performing art forms. Their function was to provide provide artists and artisans with a secure career option, to develop and promote dramballet, music and opera by offering audiences in the province with regular professional productions.

National Association of Bargaining Councils (NABC)

The National Association of Bargaining Councils (NABC) was formed in 1993 to unite industrial councils and serve as a platform to articulate common challenges faced by both labour and business representatives. Amendments to the Labour Relations Act (LRA) of 1995 greatly changed the face of industrial councils (now known as bargaining councils) by significantly increasing their role and power. The NABC played a leading role in the implementation of these amendments and unsured that its member councils were geared for these significant changes.
