Muscular Dystrophy Foundation of South Africa (MDFSA)
The Muscular Dystrophy Foundation of South Africa assists affected persons and their families by:
- Providing access to international information regarding specific dystrophies.
- Hosting informative workshops about muscular dystrophy.
- Providing referrals to health facilities and professional counsellors.
- Assisting with specialised disability equipment, if funding is available.
- Providing access to social service professionals for emotional support.
- Facilitating support groups.
- Create public awareness on muscular dystrophy issues and disability.
Milk South Africa (MSA)
Milk SA is entrusted by the Government to administrate statutory regulations in pursuit of its strategic direction to broaden the market for milk and other dairy products, improve the international competitiveness of the dairy industry and empower previously disadvantaged persons. Since 2002 already, Milk South Africa has been adding value to the South African dairy industry through the promotion of the image and consumption of South African dairy products and the development of the South African dairy industry through value-added services such as to:
- Educate the consumer about the nutrition and health benefits of dairy;
- Improve the quality and safety of dairy products;
- Publish reliable statistical and other information;
- Promote the South African dairy trade dispensation;
- Co-ordinate, initiate and fund research and development projects; and
- Transfer knowledge and skills to previously disadvantaged persons.
The Members of Milk SA comprise the Milk Producers’ Organisation (MPO) and the SA Milk Processors’ Organisation (SAMPRO).

The Metal and Engineering Industries Bargaining Council (MEIBC) is a statutory body created under the Labour Relations Act (LRA) to provide for the co-regulation of stable and productive employment relations in the metal and engineering industries.
The council is an industry based forum of organised business and labour that regulates employment conditions and labour relations in the metal and engineering industry. It provides the necessary, administrative infrastructure and technical expertise to ensure effective collective bargaining, industry compliance, dispute resolution and social protection services. As at end of November, The Council represented approximately 10 624 firms and 306 747 employees in the industry.
Continue reading →Metal & Electrical Workers Union of South Africa (MEWUSA)
The Launching of MEWUSA was the first implementation of the principle of one union one industry in the National Council of Trade Unions since it was fromed in 1986. The union was launched against a background of co-ordinated state attacks against trade unions and democratic movement, as well as tough annual wage negotiations with metal employers who were also planning to deregulate some businesses in the metal industry. Against this repressive background thousands of workers flocked to NASREC on the 27 of May 1988 to launch the Metal and Electrical Workers Union of South Africa(MEWUSA). Unions which participated in the merger were the Black Electrical and Electronics Workers Union(BEEWU), the Electrical and Allied Workers Trade Union(EAWTUSA and the Engineering and Allied Workers Union(EAWUSA). Metal and Electrical Workers Union of South Africa is a Non-Racial, Non-Sexist, Democratic socialist union of the workers ,established and organised by the workers to fight against the frustrations of the workers with employers and to unite them with other workers in common struggle for their thoroughly democratic and social aspirations as the most revolutionary class in our modern capitalist society, the proletariat.bca

The LFWA was established in later 2011 as an association not for gain. After consideration (backed by a legal opinion) the Management Team agreed to register the LFWA as a Constituted Association and not a company- not for gain. Its key functions are to lobby, advise and advocate on matters relating to the Liquid Fuels Industry – in particular on liquid fuels wholesaling matters. To educate and engage stakeholders on issues relating to the liquid fuels sector throughout the value chain, through work shops / seminars and social media platforms – focusing on issues that impact directly on the wholesaler. The LFWA is an independent recognized body that ensures liquid fuels wholesalers operate in an environment that is com plaint to all relevant legislation. Participate fully in all legislation / regulation interactions ensuring sustainability of the liquid fuels industry.

MARIS (Marine and Antarctic Research for Innovation and Sustainability) is the new interdisciplinary center for Marine and Antarctic Science projects, involving multiple departments within the University of Cape Town: Biological Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Oceanography.
The centre is an aggregator of competence and expertise that considers academic and technological knowledge in relation to societal benefits, with the overarching aim of enhancing the production of knowledge and human capacity in marine and Antarctic research.
