The Society supports and strengthens the capacity of its members to deliver high quality HIV prevention, care and treatment services.
The main objective of the Surgical Research Society of SA is to encourage and facilitate research in Southern Africa. Membership includes representatives from the medical schools in South Africa and those in Botswana Zambia Zimbabwe.
The objective of the SRSSA, as defined in the constitution, is “to provide for the interchange of information about research work related to surgery”. In its present form the society provides a platform to network and collaborate in research four countries in southern Africa.

This is specifically relevant to dealing with coding matters and dispute resolution with medical schemes. It is envisaged that within a consolidated FCPS the FCPSA representatives will have a proper mandate to represent the interests of its members, including all sub-specialties.
