Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA)

Seda was established in December 2004 through the National Small Business Amendment Act – Act 29 of 2004 – as an agency under the then-Department of Trade and Industry (the dti). The establishment merged three entities: Ntsika Enterprise Promotion Agency, National Manufacturing Advisory Centre and the Community Public Private Partnership (CPPP) programme. The GODISA Trust and the National Technology Transfer Centre were merged with Seda in April 2006, becoming the Seda Technology Programme (Stp). The small enterprise support function of the South African Quality Institute and the technology-related activities of the Technology for Women in Business were incorporated with Stp in 2008. Stp was fully integrated into Seda structures in 2009. In 2014, Seda’s mandate and functions were transferred from the dti to DSBD.

Public Health and Social Development Sectoral Bargaining Council (PHSDSBC)

The PHSDSBC is a bargaining council, which was established in 1999, and services employees within the public health and social development sectors. Our mission is to promote labour peace in the public health and social development sectors of South Africa by engaging in constructive collective bargaining regarding issues of mutual interests to all the parties to the Council; and
Facilitating dispute prevention measures to pre-empt the occurrence of disputes within the sector and the resolution of all sector-wide labour disputes speedily and to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
This bargaining council is a registered government bargaining council.

Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA)

The Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA) is a multi-donor Special Fund managed by the African Development Bank. It provides catalytic finance to unlock private sector investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency. SEFA offers technical assistance and concessional finance instruments to remove market barriers, build a more robust pipeline of projects and improve the risk-return profile of individual investments. The Fund’s overarching goal is to contribute to universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy services for all in Africa, in line with the New Deal on Energy for Africa and Sustainable Development Goal 7.

Limpopo Economic Development Agency (LEDA)

LEDA is established in terms of the Limpopo Economic Development Corporation Act, Act No. 5 of 1994, as amended, and complies with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) as a Schedule 3D agency. It has been established as a special purpose vehicle, culminating from the amalgamation of four historical agencies, namely Trade and Investment Limpopo, the Limpopo Business Support Agency, the Limpopo Agribusiness Development Corporation and the Limpopo Economic Development Enterprise. Its mission is to implement integrated economic development initiatives in Limpopo, through:
•accelerated industrial diversification;
•increased levels of trade and investment; and
•by developing sustainable enterprises.

The Gauteng Economic Development Agency (GEDA) and Blue IQ Investment Holdings have merged to form the Gauteng Growth & Development Agency. The GGDA’s key purpose is to maximise the effect of developing the economy of Gauteng, through support growth of the cooperatives economy, facilitation of trade and investment and increased strategic economic infrastructure.
Our subsidiary companies include the Automotive Industry Development Centre (AIDC), The Innovation Hub (TIH), Gauteng Industrial Development Zone (IDZ) and the Constitution Hill Development Company (ConHill).
