The society aims at promoting parasitology in this region and creating a forum for researchers, veterinary parasitologists, and other scientists and interested parties to meet and exchange information regarding their relative fields. This occurs at the annual PARSA meeting held within the southern African countries and is attended by a number of national and international participants. Furthermore, PARSA publishes a quarterly newsletter which is distributed to all of its members, conveying important information on the awards, opportunities and work being done by the southern African parasitologists.
