Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA)

The Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA) is a statutory health body established in terms of the Allied Health Professions Act, 63 of 1982 (the Act) in order to control all allied health professions, which includes AyurvedChinese Medicine and Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Osteopathy, Phytotherapy, Therapeutic Aromatherapy, Therapeutic Massage Therapy, Therapeutic Reflexology and Unani-Tibb.
AHPCSA is a statutory, SAQA-recognised professional body.
They have twelve professional designations:

  1. Registered Homeopath;
  2. Registered Chiropractor;
  3. Registered Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Practitioner;
  4. Registered Acupuncturist;
  5. Registered Unani Tibb Practitioner;
  6. Registered Phytotherapist;
  7. Registered Naturopath;
  8. Registered Ayurveda Practitioner;
  9. Registered Osteopath;
  10. 10. Registered Therapeutic Aromatherapist;
  11. Registered Therapeutic Reflexologist;
  12. Registered Therapeutic Massage Therapist

Institute of Loss Adjusters of Southern Africa (ILASA)

ILASA was established in 1963 as a voluntary Professional Institute specific to Insurance Loss Adjusters. This was at a similar time as the establishment of the IISA. The two bodies worked together to ensure cohesive and solid insurance qualifications for the Insurance Industry. Whilst the IISA focus on Insurance Brokers, Underwriters and Claims staff competencies, the ILASA specifically focuses on the Loss Adjusters who are independently appointed individuals to investigate complex and high value non-motor claims for Insurers and provide an independent report on the circumstances, cause, validity and settlement recommendations to Insurers.

Turnaround Management Association Southern Africa (TMASA)

The Turnaround Management Association (TMA) is the most professionally diverse organization in the corporate restructuring, renewal, and corporate health space. Established in 1988, TMA has almost 10,000 members in 54 chapters worldwide. Members include turnaround practitioners, attorneys, accountants, advisors, liquidators, consultants, as well as academic, government employees, and members of the judiciary.

The Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and its chapters value and seek diversity and inclusiveness in principle and in practice. TMA welcomes all industry professionals as members, leaders and participants consistent with the organization’s diversity values.

South African Professional Firearm Trainers Council (SAPFTC)

The PFTC is the SAQA registered and recognised Professional Body for Firearm Training Professionals. The PFTC has five registered Professional Designations with SAQA as well as a number of internal Titles or Designations allocated by the PFTC to individuals. These Designations serve to recognise professionals within the industry and indicate where a particular professional is in their career path as a firearm training professional. Designations also prescribe the level at which a professional is allowed to perform based on the knowledge and skill set of that individual. The different designations set the standard of the professionals within the industry.

The Property Practitioners Act (PPA) on which the PPRA derive its core mandate and responsibilities is a consumer-centric organisation whose primary aim is to protect consumers in the property industry as well as to instil transformation of the property practitioner industry and to maintain professional standards in the property practitioners sector.
