  • To liaise with other cherry groups in the world to exchange information of mutual benefit.
  • To share resources regarding production, packing and marketing aspects of cherries.
  • To ensure an economically viable and sustainable cherry industry via coordinated joint actions as agreed from time to time.
  • To look at ways of promoting sales and consumption of cherries on the local and export markets.
  • To ensure the availability of certified plant material.

Livestock Welfare Coordinating Committee (LWCC)

The Livestock Welfare Coordinating Committee (LWCC) stands for humane livestock production. The main objective of the LWCC is to take proactive actions to ensure humane and responsible handling of production livestock. The LWCC promotes welfare of livestock by participating in the drafting of informative material for all farmers, livestock transporters , abattoirs, sale yards, vending site and show-ground operators.  The LWCC encourages practical humane research projects, observations, and desk research. The LWCC also advises Government on related livestock welfare policy matters.

Proudly South African (PSA)

Proudly South African seeks to influence local procurement in the public and private sectors, to increase local production and to influence consumers to buy local in order to stimulate job creation. This is in line with government’s plans to revive South Africa’s economy so that millions of jobs can be created and unemployment can be reduced. The work of Proudly South African aligns with the broader National Development Plan and the Local Procurement Accord signed in October 2011.
