South African Meat Industry Company (SAMIC)

SAMIC is a quality assurance company which was created by the Red Meat Industry of South Africa to ensure the quality and safety of meat in South Africa. At SAMIC we believe in world class standards of quality audits, inspections and outstanding service performance. The National Department of Agriculture appointed SAMIC as Assignee for the application of sections 3(1)(a) and (b) and 8 of the Agricultural Product Standards Act (no 119 of 1990) with regards to the classification and marking of meat intended for sale in the Republic of South Africa. The SAMIC coordinators operating across the country perform this duty with full commitment to consumers, farmers, abattoir owners and meat traders to ensure always 100% integrity in our product – beef, lamb and pork. It is therefore important that no fraudulent activities will go unpunished and that the playing field stays level.

South African Professional Firearm Trainers Council (SAPFTC)

The PFTC is the SAQA registered and recognised Professional Body for Firearm Training Professionals. The PFTC has five registered Professional Designations with SAQA as well as a number of internal Titles or Designations allocated by the PFTC to individuals. These Designations serve to recognise professionals within the industry and indicate where a particular professional is in their career path as a firearm training professional. Designations also prescribe the level at which a professional is allowed to perform based on the knowledge and skill set of that individual. The different designations set the standard of the professionals within the industry.

South African Nephrology Society (SANS)

Nephrologists have been on the ‘front line’ of the response to the pandemic. Our patients are vulnerable for a variety of well described reasons. Chronic kidney disease, dialysis, transplant status, immune suppression, diabetes mellitus and hypertension are all risk factors for more severe COVID19. These conditions comprise most of our practice. Nephrologists around the country have put their gloves (and other PPE!) on, and have committed themselves to the well being of their patients. Our members embodied a spirit of community, commitment, and co-operation in serving society.
