Institute for Sport Research (ISR)

The Institute for Sports Research (ISR) High Performance Division, situated at the High Performance Centre (hpc) is staffed with highly qualified sports scientists and biokineticists. The HP division offers specialist sport specific testing, strength and conditioning, monitoring, programming and sport specific rehabilitation. These services are provided to University of Pretoria students, the general public, national federations and elite athletes alike.
The Institute strives to combine, structure and integrate existing unaddressed Sport Scientific and Biokinetics requirements incorporated within the training, service and research responsibility of the UP, with those of established or envisaged academic departments.

South African Sports Coaching Association (SASCA)

SASCA was formed to enhance the integrity, relevance and standing of the profession of sports coaching, which will benefit athletes, participants and society by providing high performance service to our membership of sports coaching professionals.

They also regulate, recognize and ensure SASCA members are responsible and sign up to the Sports Coaching Charter to protect our athletes, sport coaches and citizens.

Also known as Voetslaan Suid Afrika, the organisation consists of individuals, clubs, trail owners, trails managers and companies formed to promote hiking and protect the environment. It is staffed by volunteers with the exception of the office administrator. Hiking South Africa aims to serve and grow the South African hiking community as a central, national community resource.

Western Cape Basketball Association (WCBA)

Western Cape Basketball Association (WC Basketball) is a Provincial federation responsible for the development of the sport of basketball in the Western Cape Province. Its membership consists of District Associations, Associates and other organizations who are or interested in the sport of basketball in the Province. WC Basketball is affiliated to the South African national basketball federation, Basketball South Africa, and Western Cape Provincial Sport Confederation. Western Cape Basketball Association organizes competitions, player, coach and technical officials training to assist members to participate in basketball. As member of Basketball South Africa it selects teams to participate in national basketball events some of which are aligned with the international basketball federation (FIBA).

Mountain Club of South Africa (MCSA)

The Mountain Club of South Africa (MCSA) was founded in 1891 in Cape Town, and is the only mountain club in Africa that is affiliated to the world mountaineering body, the UIAA. The MCSA offers mountaineering which includes climbing of all types and hiking opportunities to its members and is involved in mountain search and rescue, training, conservation of mountain areas and procurement of access for mountaineering. The Range is set in the historic Glencairn Quarry which has long since reverted back to nature, presenting beautiful, sheer cliff faces of over 200 meters in height, looking out to a seascape which encompasses the entire False Bay which is arguably the most idyllic and picturesque setting and largest back-stop any shooting range could hope for!
