Automotive Remanufacturers’ Association (ARA)

With a membership of 8 200, the RMI provides a very effective collective voice that gives members considerable clout in negotiating better trading conditions. As the lead voice in the motor industry, the RMI is a member-driven organisation that constantly seeks solutions to concerns raised by members in the day-to-day running of their businesses. Members needs are serviced through five regional offices, manned by 63 professional staff. In addition, the RMI is the major employer representative of the Motor Industry Bargaining Council, playing a significant role in labour negotiations as well as the industry’s social benefit schemes, dispute resolution processes and exemption procedures.

SA Vehicle and bodybuilders’ Association (SAVABA) members are professional, certified and regulated vehicle body builders in South Africa who manufacture commercial vehicle body applications (tanker, coal, refrigerated trucks and trailers) and bus bodies (commuter and tourist type). Members manufacture using the latest equipment and highly trained staff to ensure strict compliance with NRCS regulations; SABS standards and all other legal specifications and requirements.

Electric Vehicle Industry Association (EVIA)

The Electric Vehicle Industry Association (EVIA) is a non-profit organization focused on advancing the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs).
Founded in 2013 by uYilo, SANEDI, GridCars, BMW SA and Nissan SA as the Electric Vehicle
Infrastructure Alliance.
Working group activities served towards a guideline that was adopted and promoted for EV charging plugs, standards and signage for South Africa.
Presented to SABS and
NAAMSA.
The Electric Vehicle Industry Association is now national platform of multi-stakeholders from public-private sector based consortiums

Representations include Government departments and agencies, electric vehicle OEMs, electricity infrastructure and suppliers, Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) suppliers and ICT / smart grid service providers

Eastern Province Veteran Car Club (EPVCC)

The Eastern Province Veteran Car Club, based in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, was founded in 1969. The club’s aim is to encourage the acquisition, use, restoration, preservation, maintenance and exhibition of Veteran, Vintage and Classic motor vehicles.

The EPVCC keeps statistical, historical and technical records of vehicles as well as an up to date membership register reflecting vehicles currently owned by members.

The Club organises and promotes competitions, trials and other events in which Veteran, Vintage and Classic motor vehicles can participate.

National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (NAAMSA)

NAAMSA was established in 1935 to represent South Africa:

  • manufacturing OEMs;
  • retailing OEMs, and
  • heavy commercial OEMs.

Simply put, we work for manufacturers, importers, exporters and distributors of cars, bakkies [or vans], trucks and busses.

In 2020, we expanded our membership ecosystem to include Associate Members and key Strategic Partners to accelerate the extraordinary contribution we make to the well-being of South Africa, its citizens and the economy.
