Lusito Association (LPAC)

The Lusito Association was established in 1979 by a group of Portuguese parents who found a need for a school for the differently abled within the Portuguese community. The Lusito Association started the first Lusito School under the auspices of the Mental Health Society of the Witwatersrand and has subsequently grown with the school. The Lusito Association is a non-profit organisation whose function is to manage and fundraise, to build and maintain, the Lusito School. The best known fundraising event is the Lusito Land Festival, winning Leisure Options Reader’s Choice Award for Johannesburg’s best festival. 100% of all funds raised from these fundraising events go directly to the school.

Microlight & Sport Aeroplane Association of South Africa (MISASA)

MISASA is the National Flying Organisation that represents ALL pilots that fly Weight Shift Controlled Microlights (WCM),
Conventionally Controlled Microlights (CCM) and Light Sport Aeroplanes (LSA). Further to this, we have expanded our
representation to include production-built NTCA aircraft up to an MTOW of 1663kg as per our latest approved MOP.
This allows MISASA to represent Gyrocopter pilots too.

Association of B-BBEE Professionals (ABP)

The Association of B-BBEE Professionals (ABP) is established to lead the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Verification and BEE Consultancy industry as it takes up a vital role in the transformation of the South African economy. The first and only industry Professional Body of its kind, the ABP aims to facilitate the accreditation of qualifying BEE Verification Agencies as set out in the Codes of Good Practice.
The ABP is is a non-statutory, SAQA-recognised professional body.
They have one professional designation:

  1. Economic Empowerment Professional (EEP)

The Economic Empowerment Professional (EEP) designation is a nationally recognised designation awarded to the BEE Professionals practicing in the field either as BEE Verification Professionals, BEE Consulting Professionals and Corporate Transformation Managers and Practitioners affirming their astute knowledge and skills in the understanding and application of the Codes of Good Practice on B-BBEE. The designation is awarded to experienced persons who have also successfully completed the B-BBEE Management Development Program (MDP) which is a post graduate programme offered by UNISA and Wits Business Enterprise

The SA Science Journalists’ Association is a non-profit, non-governmental, national organisation for science and technology writers.
SASJA is the professional association of science media practitioners in South Africa. It is a non-profit, non-governmental, national organisation, mainly representing the interests of science and technology (including health, environmental, engineering, sports) journalists and other science media practitioners.
SASJA encourages networking and training in the interest of sound science journalism. We strive to improve communication between the science community and general society by evaluating information according to strict journalism ethics and presenting it either in print, or via the electronic media – television, radio and internet – to the public.
