Continue reading →The accountabilities of the SA Colliery Managers’ Association (SACMA) are to Ensure knowledge transfer of Coal Industry practices between current and future members, Provide structure for networking between members and affiliates with major stakeholders. SACMA wants to ensure sharing of best practices to add value to the member and business while providing the vehicle that is the mechanism for social interaction between members.
SACMA is also recognized through the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Voluntary Association which provides some influence in terms of the accreditation of learning materials and institutions, as well as strengthening the Association’s role with regard to registration matters.
The Association of Mine Financial and Administrative Managers (AMFAM) consists of 350 members at gold, platinum and other metalliferous mining operations. It was established in 1920 as the Association of Mine Secretaries.
The main objectives of the association have always been to originate and promote the general advancement of financial discipline in the mining industry, and to protect the interests of its members.
The Association’s objectives are achieved in diverse ways, including conferences and seminars, where information is shared by relevant presentations. Every year, each district produces written projects that are reproduced in books, distributed in the industry as well as to universities and libraries around the world. These books are a permanent record of the association’s achievements and progress.
The aim of the South African Management Development Institute (Samdi) is to provide practical
training and develop interventions that contribute to the improvement of the public service.
