This proposal emerges from two gatherings of Deans (or their representatives) at the University of Johannesburg, on 26-27 February 2009, and 5-6 November 2010. SAHUDA is deemed to be the duly constituted and authorised body representing its members. The current Dean or Deputy Dean of each Faculty of Humanities at every public university in South Africa is a member of SAHUDA and is entitled to participate.
