As time progressed and the needs of the industries changed, SAGIS was approached to also render additional information services to the industries, for example the monitoring of import tariffs, audit certificates for minimum market access and weekly import and export figures for the maize and wheat industries.

We were established in 1978 with the common goal of serving, protecting and promoting the interests of the South African cactus pear industry both here at home and abroad. We also help our farmers on various levels, by providing practical technical, marketing and legislative support.

Continue reading →The SA Agricultural Machinery Association (SAAMA) is the official body representing new agricultural machinery manufacturers, importers and builders. SAAMA was founded in 1985.
As the official body, SAAMA serves as a combined forum for the agricultural machinery industry in South Africa in which the interests of its members and agriculture as a whole are addressed, promoted and developed.
SAAMA promotes and co-ordinates the collection, processing and publication of agricultural machinery industry statistics.
The SAAMA technical working group focuses on providing direction and support for practical compliance to existing and new legislation which may affect members and their customers.

The Association, a “daughter” under the umbrella of AVCASA (Association of Veterinary and Crop Associations) used to be a division of AVCASA but is now an autonomous Association representing 90% of animal health product importers, manufacturers and suppliers in South Africa.

Continue reading →The PDMA, an initiative of the South African Poultry Association was established to have direct involvement in poultry disease control measures – ensuring quality control nationwide. It was envisaged that the PDMA would form partnerships with several stakeholders. The main stakeholder would be government, as most of the matters around disease control require government input. Over a period, the PDMA will form a Public Private Partnership with government to ensure that its objectives are met.
