Pedal Power Association (PPA)

Founded in 1976, the PPA is a Public Benefit Organisation committed to promoting cycling and the interests of cyclists. Recreational cycling (on- and off-road), development through cycling, safe cycling and advocacy are among the PPA’s priorities.

The Pedal Power Association is the largest recreational cycling organisation in South Africa. It has some 16 000 paid-up members; the largest component being in the Western Cape where the Association has its headquarters.

Project Management South Africa (PMSA)

Project Management SA (formerly known as PMISA) was formed in 1997 as a National Association to represent project management professionals across all sectors in South Africa. Since 1997 the PMSA membership has grown to almost 1000 members, who are drawn from a diverse cross section of industries and ethnic groups.

The drive to create PMSA came from a need for a cross sector forum for practitioners to meet and work together and for a national body to work with local organisations and the South African government in developing effective project management within South Africa.

Percy Fitzpatrick Institute for African Ornithology (PFIAO)

The Percy FitzPatrick Institute of African Ornithology (affectionately known as the Fitztitute) is located at the University of Cape Town, South Africa where it is housed within the Zoology Department. Situated at the tip of Africa the Fitztitute is uniquely positioned to take advantage of the vast untapped biological resources of the continent. Members of the department are committed to developing a greater understanding of these, through the training of scientists and the pursuit of primary research, from evolutionary ecology to conservation biology. The Institute is also home to the Niven Library, which holds what is probably Africa’s most comprehensive Ornithology collection and reprints of the Institute’s vast publication record.

The Pietermaritzburg & Midlands Chamber of Business (PMCB) is a voluntary association of business enterprises that came into being on the 25 July 2019, as a result of a decision to broaden the mandate of the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Business (PCB), to include the Midlands area. The Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Business (PCB) was established on 1 August 2002 as a result of the unification of the Midlands Black Business Chamber, the Pietermaritzburg Sakekamer and the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Commerce & Industries, all of which disbanded to form the new body. The PMCB is a comprehensively united business organisation enjoying wide credibility and the full confidence of government at all levels.

Professional Educators Union (PEU)

The Professional Educators Union (PEU) is a national trade union that’s proudly South African. What drives us is to organise teachers – the educators of the nation, regardless of colour, creed and gender – and represent them in labour-related grievances and during collective bargaining to ease the pressure that comes with the nature of the teaching profession.

PEU aims to make teachers’ lives easier so that they continue empowering the youth with the most important tool – education – without stress or worry. PEU is a a member of the Education Labour Relations Council (ELRC) and the Public Service Coordinating Bargaining Council (PSCBC). They are also affiliated to the National Council of Trade Unions (Nactu) and the Confederation of South African Workers’ Unions (Consawu). At the same time, PEU represents its members in the National Economic Development and Council’s (Nedlac) Development Chamber. Moreover, they are part of the National Board for Further Education and Training (NBFET).
