The Marine Industry Association of South Africa was established as a nationally inclusive, representative association to unite the entire boating industry, from boatbuilders and their suppliers to retailers, importers, brokers, surveyors, yacht clubs, fishing associations, to name but a few.
MIASA is open to all companies and covers the entire boating value chain from design to manufacture, to sale, to mooring to boating activities.

In forming a new chamber of commerce and industry, the unifying bodies agreed to forego their independent identities. Following the unification, the Bloemfontein Chamber of Commerce and Industry is actively campaigning for recognition of the local and provincial governments as the representative of the business community in Bloemfontein as well as the Free State.
