Continue reading →The Institute of Plumbing South Africa was established in 1989 by plumbers. Today the Institute of Plumbing has evolved as the only plumbing body that has become the recognised voice of the South African Plumbing industry.
The Institute provides a platform so as to advise on the practice and principles of the plumbing industry. The Institute regularly consults and liaises with the plumbing industry, governmental and regulatory bodies for the discussion of matters affecting the plumbing industry.
The Institute is recognised and in most cases have representation on most national and internationally plumbing and legislative bodies.

The institute of South African Municipal Accounting Officers (ISAMAO) is a professional organisation for Municipal Managers in South Africa. It was officially launched on 27 November 2014. The aim of the Institute is the professionalisation of the position of the municipal manager. In terms of its Constitution, among others, it aims to ensure that the municipalities’ collective institutional memory is not lost to local government, generally , and to municipalities, specifically, while setting norms, standards and values for Municipal Accounting Officers.

It was established in 1964 to study the problems of English in Africa and in the Republic in particular, as mother tongue, as an official language, and as a second language; how it is spoken and written by the main linguistic groups; how it is taught; to find out the weaknesses of the present system; and devise means to meet them: in fact, a Research Institute with a strong practical bias. – – – the Institute should sponsor research, collect information and organize training both for post-graduate students at the University and for teachers in service.
Today the Institute fulfils the aims of its founders in large-scale research and implementation projects in English education, in the publication of journals devoted to English language and literature in Africa and South Africand by providing a research base for scholars in the field covered by the Institute.
