Since the early days, HASA has been at the forefront of fighting with the powers that be to cut down the amount of red tape to operate and maintain helicopters in South Africa. We are not alone in this struggle, as this is a worldwide phenomenon, and we learn from our associate members like Helicopter Association International (HAI). In 2014, we also become an associate member of the Middle East & Africa Helicopter Association (MEAHA).

The underlying core belief of the Hout Bay Residents and Ratepayers Association (HBRRA) is that the economy is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ecology, that without the environment there can be no economy. We focus on the environment of Hout Bay in its broadest sense – human, natural, heritage and built – and we strive to protect the interests of all who live or work here. To this end we liaise closely with our Ward Councillor and bring issues of community concern to his attention and the attention of other authorities through the various public participation mechanisms available.

Hydraulic and Pneumatic Export Cluster (HAPEC)

The Hydraulic and Pneumatic Export Cluster is the newest cluster formed under the umbrella of the SACEEC early 2018. The cluster has the objective to strengthen local manufacturing companies with their exports into the global market. The aim for the hydraulic and pneumatic industry is to grow its presence firstly into Africa, Australia and the Americas and into other parts of the world. Through support from the dti, the aim is to designate hydraulic and pneumatic products in order to support local procurement from procuring entities.

Historical Association of South Africa (HASA)

The Historical Association of South Africa is the oldest professional organisation in the country for historians specialising in aspects of southern African history. The Association has as its main objective the furtherance of history as a discipline in particular the study and understanding of the history of South Africby means of the following:

Ø the encouragement of history as a subject in South African universities, colleges of education and schools;
Ø the improvement of the quality of the teaching of History as a subject generally;
Ø the development and awareness of the importance of History;
Ø by publishing historical journals/magazines;
Ø by publishing any other publications of a historical nature and by supporting the publishing of historical material;
Ø by collecting historical documents and archival material and depositing them to the relevant South African archives;
Ø by promoting historical documents and archival material and depositing them to the relevant South African archives;
Ø by promoting historical museums through collecting relevant pieces for the museums;
Ø by co-operating with statutory bodies and other institutions involved with the preservation or restoration of historical artefacts (and articles); and
Ø by working together with other organisations to promote common ideals.

Healthcare Workers Care Network (HWCN)

The Healthcare Workers Care Network (HWCN) is a nationwide healthcare worker support network which offers all healthcare workers across the public and private sectors free support, pro bono therapy, resources, training and psychoeducation. The HWCN already has over 500 volunteer mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, GPs, registered counsellors, and social workers, who will provide help, intervention, and support to all healthcare workers. These include doctors, nurses, community healthcare workers, field workers, hospital or clinic personnel, including hospital laundry staff, and porters.
