Coaches and Mentors of South Africa (COMENSA) was launched in April 2006 as an inclusive, umbrella professional association for individual and strategic partner providers, buyers and trainers of coaching and mentoring services. COMENSA’S core purpose is to empower coaches and mentors to make a positive contribution to the people of South Africa.

COMENSA is is a non-statutory, SAQA-recognised professional body.
They have six professional designations:

  1. COMENSA Credentialed Coach;
  2. COMENSA Senior Coach;
  3. COMENSA Master Coach;
  4. COMENSA Credentialed Mentor (CCM);
  5. COMENSA Senior Mentor (CSM);
  6. COMENSA Master Mentor (CMM)

Council on Higher Education (CHE)

The vision of the Council on Higher Education (CHE) is to be a dynamic organisation contributing to a transformed, equitable and quality higher education and training system in South Africa. Its mission as the independent statutory quality council for South African higher education, is to: lead and manage quality assurance; research and monitor trends and development; initiate critical discourse on contemporary higher education issues; and provide advice to the Minister on strategy and policy.
