Meat Traders Association Gauteng (MTA)

The Meat Traders Association Gauteng is the only employer’s organisation representing the majority of employers within the Retail Meat Trade. The Association was formed in the late 1940’s being a party to the then Industrial Council for the Retail Meat Trade in Gauteng. The Meat Traders Association Gauteng is affiliated to the National Federation of Meat Traders which is the only recognized National organisation representative of all role-players in this particular sector of the Meat Industry in South Africa. The Meat Traders Association Gauteng represents the interests of independent retailers’ opinions in both the established and the emergent sector as well as independent supermarkets and national chain stores. As the Federation represents the interests of the distributive Meat Industry on a national level, recognised by role players within the Industry from feedlots to the consumer, the Federation plays an important role and has a voice in the decision making processes within the Industry. Through this body, the Association is kept abreast of all developments within the food chain, from new legislation and regulation introduced by Government to fostering or stimulating demand for meat, offal and meat products to benefit our members within the Meat Trade. The Meat Traders Association represents employers at the National Federation of Meat Traders as well as representing employers in all Labour Disputes at the Bargaining Council for Meat Trade Gauteng and CCMA as well as employer queries pertaining to labour matters within the jurisdiction of the Bargaining Council for Meat Trade Gauteng.

Landscape Irrigation Association (LIA)

The Landscape Irrigation Association, formerly known as the TIwas formed in 1983. From humble beginnings in Gauteng, it has become the nationally recognised mouthpiece of the landscape irrigation industry.
The primary objective of the Association is to improve and uphold professionalism and standards in the industry. To this end a comprehensive Code of Conduct and Code of Standards has been compiled. The standards are benchmarked against the best global standards and are continually expanded and updated to keep pace with technological advances in the industry.

The LIA Membership encompasses all spheres of the industry. These include irrigation contractors, irrigation distributors, landscape architects, piping and other irrigation equipment providers. Regular meetings are held, in which members are encouraged to participate and network with their peers in the industry. To facilitate an ongoing educational programme, specialists are invited to give presentations on various important aspects in the industry.

The Lawnmower Association of SA (LMA) represents specialist independent suppliers and dealers in South Africa. These dealers provide quality products, available spare parts, and reliable after sales services such as approved workshops for the service and repairs of equipment.

LMA is an affiliate member of S.A.G.I.C. (South African Green Industries Council), and OPEA (Outdoor Power Equipment Association), the Association of manufacturers and importers of equipment in South Africa. This association is legally registered as the Lawn Mower Association of South Africa (LMA). Members collectively agreed to trade as the Outdoor Power Product Association of South Africa (The OPPASA).
