Craft Brewers Association South Africa (CBASA)

The Craft Brewers Association of South Africa is a not for profit organisation established to represent craft breweries in South Africa.There was a need to form an organisation that served the small and independent breweries throughout South Africa. Many laws are either outdates or focused on mass production, while monopolies charge excessively high prices on raw materials and goods. The CBASA looks at helping small businesses that want to grow their community and encourage employment.

Anatomical Society of Southern Africa (ASSA)

The Society, through its annual meetings, website and list server promotes excellence in research and education and has become the professional home for biomedical researchers and educators in South Africa focusing on anatomy in its broadest sense. In addition to being the primary educators of students in the medical and allied health disciplines, research by ASSA members encompass clinical anatomy, embryology and developmental biology, imaging, cell biology, genetics, histology, neuroscience, forensics, microscopy, anthropology, movement science and numerous other exciting and developing areas. Members are internationally recognized for their contributions to developing and maintaining anatomy as the spine of biomedical science.

Freedom of Expression Institute (FXI)

The Freedom of Expression Institute (FXI) was formed in 1994 to defend freedom of expression, to oppose censorship, to promote access to information and knowledge, and to promote media diversity. FXI is the leading organisations on issues of freedom of expression and access to information as enshrined in section 16 of the South African Constitution. The FXI was formed from a merger between the Anti-Censorship Action Group (ACAG) and the Campaign for Open Media (COM) in order to oppose censorship in South Africa. FXI works to contribute to the creation of a society where everyone enjoys freedom of expression and the right of access to, and dissemination of, information and knowledge. The Freedom of Expression Institute engages in litigation, research and education to promote and protect the right to freedom of expression. We educate the public about the dangers of censorship and network and engage in solidarity with groups opposing censorship locally and internationally.
