Cape Kidney Association (CKA)

The Cape Kidney Association is a Grassroots Non-Profit Organisation that raises funds for indigent Kidney patients. The Non-Profit Association was founded in 1978 by a group of Nephrology Doctors and Nurses who saw a need to assist indigent Kidney patients.

We the Cape Kidney Association support Kidney dialysis patients with monthly food parcels, travel allowance to get to the hospitals for their dialysis and bursaries to further their studies or start-up costs for small businesses.

This is the only organisation in the Western Cape that is Kidney patient care based.

Cape Institute for Architecture (CIfA)

The Cape Institute for Architecture was formed in 1899, and is the largest regional architecture body in South Africwith the potential to influence development in the city of Cape Town and the wider region.

The Institute’s core objectives are to promote the practice of architecture, to serve the interests of its members, and to support the integrity of the profession through maintaining its code of conduct and professional competence as established by the national bodies: The South African Institute of Architects (SAIA) and the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP).

Association of Mine Financial & Administrative Managers (AMFAM)

The Association of Mine Financial and Administrative Managers (AMFAM) consists of 350 members at gold, platinum and other metalliferous mining operations. It was established in 1920 as the Association of Mine Secretaries.

The main objectives of the association have always been to originate and promote the general advancement of financial discipline in the mining industry, and to protect the interests of its members.
The Association’s objectives are achieved in diverse ways, including conferences and seminars, where information is shared by relevant presentations. Every year, each district produces written projects that are reproduced in books, distributed in the industry as well as to universities and libraries around the world. These books are a permanent record of the association’s achievements and progress.

Association of Independent Publishers (AIP)

The Association of Independent Publishers (AIP) is a national organisation for advancing the interests of the local grassroots independent print media sector in South Africa. The association comprises mostly small newspapers, but it also represents newsletters, magazines and online publications, all of which are owned by local communities.

Established in 2004, AIP represents the largest group of South Africa’s small independent publications. It is a projects-driven association, but also focuses on research, policy issues and the setting of industry standards for the grassroots print media sector.
