Continue reading →The African Muslim Farmers Association (AMFA), aims to foster unity and goodwill amongst Muslim farmers of Africa in support of the agricultural sector. The organisation was formalised following the first inception workshop held in Newcastle, KZN, on the 20th February 2016. This cooperation amongst farmers has led to Strength in Numbers. AMFA members are involved in diverse fields of farming such as game, livestock, crops, forestry and are farming not only countrywide but also continent-wide in countries such as Zambia and Botswana.
Continue reading →This research focus area carries out primary and secondary research, development and technology transfer with respect to Animal Breeding and Improvement, Rangelands and Nutrition, and Food Science and Technology to improve productivity and sustainable resource utilisation. In addition, this research focus area serves as the custodian of national assets such as the conservation of animal, forage and bacterial culture collection genetic resources, including databases and DNA banks associated with them.

SAFLA represents all the major livestock auctioneers in South Africa as well as a number of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) SAFLA members are regulated by law and Livestock Auctioneers must register with the Agricultural Produce Agents Council (APAC) in terms of the Agricultural Produce Agents Act, 1992 (Act No. 12 of 1992). The Council is appointed by the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and its purpose is to regulate Fresh Produce Agents, Livestock Agents and Export Agents.
