The South African Lipizzaner Centre (NPO) is a renowned equestrian establishment located just outside of Paarl in the Western Cape. Our work is dedicated to the preservation of the magnificent Lipizzaner horse in South Africa, and our training follows the strict principles and traditions of classical dressage and the haute ècole.
Continue reading →The SASHF was registered with the South African Stud Book in March 2004, following discussions and approval by the registrar for livestock Improvement, Dr Keith Ramsay and Mr Charl Hunlun, the director of the SA Studbook.
In keeping with the requirements of the Animal Improvement Act, all SA Studbook affiliated Breed societies are required to register their member’s animals with this Body.
Accordingly, the South African Sport Horse Register (code ZAH) was opened early in 2004.

The Equestrian Qualifications Authority of SA (EQASA) was formerly the SANEF National Instructors’ Plan. Since 1976, Equestrian Education in southern Africa has achieved substantial growth across many learning pathways through certification, formerly under the banner of the SANEF National Instructors’ Plan. Equine and equestrian industry needs and the changing educational environment of the world in general and South Africa in particular, determined that the scope and reach of our programmes required a transformation of the NIP into EQASA.
EQASA’s vision is: To address all equine and equestrian educational needs for the benefit of all and to grow pride in certified knowledge. In addition to a variety of stand alone subject skills competency certifications, 12 levels of certification are offered.
