Continue reading →The Society maintains close ties with the SA Rosarium in Bedford, Eastern Cape which is a project that was initiated by a group of HRSSA members and aims to house the complete collection of Old Garden Roses listed in Dr Fagans book, Roses at the Cape of Good Hope.
Continue reading →The Gold Reef Rose Society’s inauguration was held in January 1988 and Margaret Dams was the first Chairman. By June 1988 the membership was approximately 30 and the first function was a pruning demonstration held at the Botanical Gardens in July.

They handle all non-indigenous cut-flowers, such as roses, lilies and chrysanthemums, while the organisation Cape Flora SA works with the production and export of the Protea family of indigenous cut-flowers.
