SASCA was formed to enhance the integrity, relevance and standing of the profession of sports coaching, which will benefit athletes, participants and society by providing high performance service to our membership of sports coaching professionals. They also regulate, recognize and ensure SASCA members are responsible and sign up to the Sports Coaching Charter to protect our athletes, sport coaches and citizens.
The SA Sports Coaching Association is a non-statutory, SAQA-recognised professional body. They have eight professional designations:- Master Coach;
- Senior Coach;
- Sports Coach;
- Assistant Sports Coach;
- Apprentice Sports Coach;
- National Coach Education Advisor;
- National Coach Developer;
- Provincial Coach Developer
