Standard Transfer Specification Association (STSA)

The Standard Transfer Specification (STS) describes a secure message system for carrying information between a point-of-sale and a meter, and is currently finding wide application in electricity metering and payment systems. STS is not limited to this application (see the section: Future enhancements), but because of the wide interest in this area, this document describes the electricity application. STS is an international industry standard described in IEC62055-41, -51 and -52.

SANSA was created to promote the use of space and strengthen cooperation in space-related activities while fostering research in space science, advancing scientific engineering through developing human capital, and supporting industrial development in space technologies.

The research and work carried out at SANSA focuses on space science, engineering and technology that can promote development, build human capital and provide important national services. Much of this work involves monitoring the Earth and our surrounding environment, and using the collected data to ensure that navigation, communication technology and weather forecasting services function as intended.

Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study (STIAS)

STIAS was established in 1999 to provide a ‘creative space for the mind’, a fellowship programme that would advance cross-disciplinary research at the highest level. Modelled on similar institutes internationally, STIAS is the first of its kind in Africa. Here, leading researchers and intellectuals from across the world are supported to think innovatively and pursue sustainable strategies to the challenges facing the world, with a focus on Africa. Offering various fellowships and scholarships, STIAS provides a uniquely supportive space for thinking, reading, debating and writing. While in residence, established and early-career researchers and artists meet daily over lunch, present and participate in weekly seminars, and organise conferences for a wider audience. South African Institute of Auctioneers (SAIA)

The SA Institute of Auctioneers (SAIA) was founded in 1989 to provide a clear set of industry standards that promote the ethical practice of the auctioneering profession. SAIA is the national association for auctioneers and the stakeholders and clients of the auctioneering industry in South Africa.

SAIA is responsible for building and maintaining good relationships with its stakeholders to the benefit of its members and the public.

SAIA members must meet specific legal requirements, be in strict compliance with the Industry Code, the SAIA Code of conduct and be members of the requisite affiliated associations.

St Dunstan’s Association for South African War-blinded Veterans (SDASWBV)

St Dunstan’s Association for SA War-blinded Veterans has been supporting War Blinded Veterans since 1915, through physical and emotional support, helping to empower beneficiaries to live independent and fulfilling lives. In 1918, after World War I, an after Care Committee was established in South Africa to care for blinded servicemen returning home.
