Southern African Hypertension Society (SAHS)

Founded in 1977, the SA Hypertension Society promotes the common interests of the members of the Society, being persons and organisations concerned with the study and treatment of hypertension. The Society is committed to the maintenance of the highest professional and ethical standards in clinical practice and research and in all its affairs and activities. The Society strongly endorses internationally recognised human rights standards, particularly in medical practice and research as set out in the Declaration of Tokyo, 1975 and the Declaration of Helsinki, 2008. The Society is opposed to all forms of discrimination on the grounds of nationality, race, religion or sex. The Society was registered as a non-profit company in South Africa in 2002.

The SA Association of Health Educationalists (SAAHE) is an association of health sciences educators from South African universities, NGOs and government and private sectors. The focus of SAAHE is on improving the quality of teaching and learning in health sciences education so as to enhance the delivery of high quality, affordable and sustainable health care to South Africans in both the public and private sector.
