Professional Editors’ Guild (PEG)

Launched in Johannesburg in 1993, PEG is a national body with three branches, Gauteng, Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal, each run by a committee of volunteers. PEG represents practitioners who operate in the South African publishing industry, corporate communications and media. PEG is a founding member of LAMP (an umbrella Alliance of Language and Media Professionals), whose mission is to promote the interests of all those professionals who serve this key sector of the South African economy. LAMP also represents our sector on book- and reading-development bodies. PEG was registered as a non-profit company (NPC) in February 2015.

South African Guild of Editors (SAGE)

The SA Guild of Editors is a community for post-production professionals. SAGE is a voluntary, non-profit organisation which represents film and video picture editors, assistant editors and sound editors. Since its inception in the early 90s, SAGE has become a recognised player in the film and television industry.

It replaces SASWthe South African Scriptwriters Association, and remains the only association in South Africa with the sole purpose of protecting, empowering and developing performance writers in the local film, television, radio, stage, animation and new media (internet – mobile and digital distribution, and gaming) industries..

Cape Guild of Weavers (CGoW)

The Cape Guild of Weavers, South Africa’s oldest guild – was founded on 24 June 1950. Our aim is to encourage and promote the enduring and very satisfying crafts of weaving, spinning, knitting, felting and dyeing through the enthusiastic participation of our members. Our membership spans the Western Cape and beyond and includes hobbyists and professionals alike. And in sharing a common interest, we break down communication barriers between generations, sexes and differing cultures. We have our monthly meetings at the South African Centre for the Netherlands and Flanders (SASNEV) 4 Central Square, Pinelands, Cape Town on the 3rd Saturday of every month
