Federation of Infectious Diseases Societies of Southern Africa (FIDSSA)

The Federation was formed from an amalgamation of existing societies representing infectious diseases. In 2020, Federation member societies include the Infectious Diseases Society of Southern Africa (IDSSA), Infection Control Society of South Africa (ICSSA), South African Society for Clinical Microbiology (SASCM) and Southern African Society of Paediatric Infectious Diseases (SASPID). The societies maintain their individual areas of expertise and identities yet share administrative support.

Benefits of the Federation include a single journal (SAJID) and joint biennial conferences to facilitate scientific and professional interaction. Furthermore, the Federation has a responsibility to guide appropriate treatment of infectious diseases by publishing guidelines.

Faculty of Consulting Physicians of South Africa (FCPSA)

Recent years have proven that consulting disciplines and smaller sub-specialties within the consulting groups have had poor representation at the previous SPPC or have not been represented at all. This is specifically relevant to dealing with coding matters and dispute resolution with medical schemes. It is envisaged that within a consolidated FCPS the FCPSA representatives will have a proper mandate to represent the interests of its members, including all sub-specialties.

Forestry South Africa (FSA)

Forestry South Africa (FSA) is South Africa’s premier and largest forestry organisation representing growers of timber in South Africa. The Association’s membership includes all 11 corporate forestry companies active in the Industry, approximately 1 300 commercial timber farmers and some 20 000 emergent small scale growers who between them own or control no less than 93% of the total plantation area in the country. Given these credentials FSA is regarded by Government and the private sector alike as being the Industry’s “representative body”.

Forum of Immigration Practitioners of South Africa (FIPSA)

The Forum of Immigration Practitioners of SA (FIPSA) is a non-profit organization that represents the interests of immigration practitioners in South Africa. FIPSA was founded in 1998 and functions to promote and maintain the integrity and professionalism of immigration practitioners in the country. Its members include immigration attorneys and other professionals who specialize in immigration law. FIPSA works closely with the South African government to ensure that immigration policies and procedures are fair and consistent, and to advocate for changes that benefit both practitioners and their clients. Additionally, the organization provides training and education opportunities for its members, coordinates industry events and conferences, and fosters a sense of community among immigration practitioners in South Africa. Overall, FIPSA plays an important role in maintaining high standards and advancing the interests of immigration practitioners in South Africa.

Family Care Association Pretoria (FCAP)

Family Care Association Pretoria (FCAP) worked in Mamelodi, a large township east of Pretoria with Stanza Bopape Community Development Centre, to distribute food and goods to underprivileged families and children. The objective was not to simply give “hand-outs,” but to provide education, training and assistance to help individuals and families become productive members of society. Most of the beneficiaries of FCAP programs live in deplorable conditions, but with assistance, training, and hope, their lives are able to change for the better.

Financial and Fiscal Commission (FFC)

It is a permanent expert Commission with a constitutionally defined structure, set of generic responsibilities and institutional processes. The Commission has the responsibility to advise and make recommendations to Parliament, provincial legislatures, organised local government and other organs of State on financial and fiscal matters. And its primary role is to ensure the creation and maintenance of an effective, equitable and sustainable system of intergovernmental fiscal relations in South Africa.

Fish South Africa (FISHSA)

FishSA is an umbrella organisation that works for the good of the
South African fishing industry. It represents 12 fisheries associations that jointly harvest, process and market about 500 000 tons of fish per year. These products are sold into the local market and exported to all four corners of the globe. Whereas some low-value fish species are an important source of affordable protein for millions of South Africans, other species are highly appreciated on export markets and generate foreign exchange and economic benefits for South Africa.
