Skylight Association of South Africa (SASA)

The Skylight Association of South Africa (SASA) is a trade Association which was founded in 1991 and whose membership comprises organizations engaged in the manufacture, sale and installation of skylight systems. Whilst the activities of the Association cover a broad scope, it is realized that with the ever increasing use of skylights in buildings in South Africa, there is an urgent need to address the issue of standards so as to develop confidence in the quality, performance and reliability of skylights. Therefore, these guidelines have been developed by representative members of SASA as a service to both specifiers, contractors, manufacturers and installers of these products.

Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA)

Seda was established in December 2004 through the National Small Business Amendment Act – Act 29 of 2004 – as an agency under the then-Department of Trade and Industry (the dti). The establishment merged three entities: Ntsika Enterprise Promotion Agency, National Manufacturing Advisory Centre and the Community Public Private Partnership (CPPP) programme. The GODISA Trust and the National Technology Transfer Centre were merged with Seda in April 2006, becoming the Seda Technology Programme (Stp). The small enterprise support function of the South African Quality Institute and the technology-related activities of the Technology for Women in Business were incorporated with Stp in 2008. Stp was fully integrated into Seda structures in 2009. In 2014, Seda’s mandate and functions were transferred from the dti to DSBD.

SAINT Professional Body for NDT (SPBNDT)

During an NDT (non destructive testing) Indaba, held in February 2013 – following a very successful NDT World conference held in Durban – 2012, the need for an entity that can enhance the professionalism and quality of NDT within industry was expressed. The need for integration of the various training, qualification and certification processes into one workable solution, that would address the industry, as well as end-user requirements, was emphasised. While the framework / individual aspects relating to professional designation process has long been in place, the alignment of functions into one coherent process was required.
