Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA)

The Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA) is a statutory health body established in terms of the Allied Health Professions Act, 63 of 1982 (the Act) in order to control all allied health professions, which includes AyurvedChinese Medicine and Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Osteopathy, Phytotherapy, Therapeutic Aromatherapy, Therapeutic Massage Therapy, Therapeutic Reflexology and Unani-Tibb.
AHPCSA is a statutory, SAQA-recognised professional body.
They have twelve professional designations:

  1. Registered Homeopath;
  2. Registered Chiropractor;
  3. Registered Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Practitioner;
  4. Registered Acupuncturist;
  5. Registered Unani Tibb Practitioner;
  6. Registered Phytotherapist;
  7. Registered Naturopath;
  8. Registered Ayurveda Practitioner;
  9. Registered Osteopath;
  10. 10. Registered Therapeutic Aromatherapist;
  11. Registered Therapeutic Reflexologist;
  12. Registered Therapeutic Massage Therapist

Turnaround Management Association Southern Africa (TMASA)

The Turnaround Management Association (TMA) is the most professionally diverse organization in the corporate restructuring, renewal, and corporate health space. Established in 1988, TMA has almost 10,000 members in 54 chapters worldwide. Members include turnaround practitioners, attorneys, accountants, advisors, liquidators, consultants, as well as academic, government employees, and members of the judiciary.

The Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and its chapters value and seek diversity and inclusiveness in principle and in practice. TMA welcomes all industry professionals as members, leaders and participants consistent with the organization’s diversity values.

With this in mind, TMA is committed to including representation from a broad range of identity groups in the membership and all of its leadership, programmatic activities, and business of the Association. South African Institute of Stockbrokers (SAIS)

The SA Institute of Stockbrokers (SAIS) is the professional body for stockbrokers and other financial markets professionals. It not only represents members but is also the industry representative. The role of the SAIS is to set and maintain the qualification standards for stockbrokers and other financial markets professionals. Ensuring that professionals have the requisite knowledge and skills is a further aim, as is ensuring that knowledge and skills remain current and relevant. As the voice for industry, the SAIS has a responsibility to ensure that perspectives and opinions of the broader financial markets industry are considered when commenting and interacting with the regulators and government.

South African Institute of Medico-Legal Experts (SAIME)

SAIME is a non-profit institution registered in terms of the Non-Profit Act 71 of 1997. The Company was formally formed in 2016 January and registered with CIPC in 2019 under the registration number 2019/091601/08 to meet the requirements of
SAQA. SAIME has a database of medico-legal experts and healthcare practitioners who are qualified in all medical disciplines. SAIME`s sole responsibility is to provide and source medico-legal experts who inter alia, provide expert opinions, evidence, joint minutes administration, and report writing. These health care practitioners are certified Medico-Legal Experts after completion of the training and they therefore take an oath of code of ethics and professionalism.

SARA’s role is to promote, develop and empower the reward profession in South Africa, and to ensure that Reward specialists and managers, human resources professionals and executives dealing with and responsible for Reward management, have the skills, confidence and passion for the reward discipline to make a significant difference in the way organisations position themselves to achieve their strategic objectives. SARA plays a key role in the professional development of Reward professionals in South Africa through its internationally recognised training and internship programmes. Since its inception in 1997, SARA has grown from strength to strength. SARA’s head office is based in Johannesburg with branches in the Western Cape (Cape Town) and KwaZulu Natal (Durban) to serve our members nationally. South African Professional Firearm Trainers Council (SAPFTC)

The PFTC is the SAQA registered and recognised Professional Body for Firearm Training Professionals. The PFTC has five registered Professional Designations with SAQA as well as a number of internal Titles or Designations allocated by the PFTC to individuals. These Designations serve to recognise professionals within the industry and indicate where a particular professional is in their career path as a firearm training professional. Designations also prescribe the level at which a professional is allowed to perform based on the knowledge and skill set of that individual. The different designations set the standard of the professionals within the industry.

The mandate of the council is to protect, promote and maintain the health, safety and wellbeing of patients and the public to ensure accessible quality pharmaceutical service for all South Africans. Their mission is to promote universal health coverage by ensuring excellent and sustainable patient-centred pharmaceutical services by developing, enhancing and upholding acceptable norms and standards in all spheres of pharmacy.
