Paper Manufacturers Association of South Africa (PAMSA)

AssociationFinder

The Paper Manufacturers Association of South Africa (PAMSA), acknowledged as the ‘voice of the pulp and paper industry’, promotes the use of paper as a renewable and recyclable material for communication, packaging and a myriad of other applications. Some of its members rank among the top 20 pulp producers in the world, making the South African pulp and paper manufacturing sector robust, well regulated and highly developed.

Representing more than 90% of paper, packaging and tissue manufacturers in South Africa, PAMSA has been actively advancing the ‘story of paper’ since its foundation in 1992. Even though some of our industry members have global footprints, their origins are firmly rooted in this country, as forest and land owners, and pulp and paper producers. PAMSA is an industry association representing the South African paper manufacturing industry.

Parachute Association of South Africa (PASA)

AssociationFinder

PASA is a non-profit association of members with the mission statement:

“To foster, develop and facilitate sport parachuting, in all its facets, within South Africin the safest and most progressive manner, on behalf of its members.”

For many people the words parachuting and skydiving conjure up images of adrenalin junkies and daredevils with little regard for their own safety. One of the questions most frequently asked of sport parachutists is, “who in their right mind would want to willingly throw themselves out of a perfectly serviceable aircraft?”

In truth, sport parachuting is a disciplined sport that operates within rigidly defined and enforced safety parameters as set out in PASA’s Manual of Procedures. This Manual has been ratified by the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) and is the basis upon which PASA has been approved as an Aviation Recreation Organisation. The safety and training standards contained in the manual are on a par or better than international standards and must be adhered to by all affiliated drop zones and members in South Africa.

Phaphama SEDI (PHAPHAMA)

AssociationFinder

Phaphama SEDI is a non-profit organisation that was started in 2014 by a small group of dynamic UCT students. The aim of Phaphama was to increase the entrepreneurial capacity of small businesses in the Khayelitsha and Philippi area by connecting them with a consulting team of senior UCT students.

Each entrepreneur is teamed for the entirety of the programme with three student consultants. These groups, comprising of diverse academic backgrounds and skill sets, mean that each business owner will receive consistent and specialised attention throughout the year, in addition to the overarching skills-building training they will receive in the module workshops.

To date we have worked with over 100 small to medium enterprises and over 300 student consultants. In doing so, we labour tirelessly to make success a reality for our entrepreneurs, at the same time we seek to equip our consultants with practical skills. We want student consultants to experience what it is like to work with the local business community.
