South African Association of Freight Forwarders (SAAFF)

The SA Association of Freight Forwarders is a non-profit organisation governed by a constitution which provides for a board of directors, with a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson. Its directors are highly experienced, senior executives from member freight forwarding companies, who are nominated and voted for by these members. A CEO reports to the Board of Directors and manages and directs the association.

Freight Forwarding plays an essential role in international trade and our members are dedicated to facilitating this activity through their involvement in the management of transportation, customs clearing, documentation, third party payments and many other elements of international supply chains. We call the freight forwarder the “architect of transport”. Globalisation and the need to reduce cost over the entire supply chain have re-focused the freight forwarder in ways that are innovative and functional.

South African Association of Family Ecology and Consumer Science (SAAFECS)

The SA Association of Family Ecology and Consumer Science (SAAFECS) is a professional association composed of scholars, educators, and students in the discipline of Consumer Sciences. This discipline includes various areas of specialisation focusing on Food, Nutrition, Fashion and Clothing, Interior Design and Merchandising, Consumer Journalism and Hospitality Management. This discipline covers two different perspectives:

  • to enlighten, educate and advise the consumer or individual and
  • to consider the consumer as part of a larger economic and social environment where decisions are made, products are bought and an exchange of information and resources takes place.

Since its founding in 1990, the SA Black Technical & Allied Careers Organisation (SABTACO) has grown into a national organisation representing thousands of members in the science and engineering disciplines. SABTACO’s mission is :

  1. To lead transformation of the Built Environment, engineering fields and
    construction industry to reflect the demographics of the country.
  2. To facilitate the creation of an environment conducive to the development
    and promotion of science and engineering skills in the PDI’s communities,
    and to enable effective utilisation of technology for the socio-economic
    development of South Africa.
  3. To increase the level of participation of Black professionals and professional
    service providers in the mainstream of the economy.

South African Association of Consulting Professional Planners | Southern Region (SAACPP)

The stated mission of the SA Association of Consulting Professional Planners South is to facilitate and promote the interests of consulting registered professional, technical and candidate planners, in the Western, Eastern and Northern Cape Provinces of South Africa, in terms of the Planning Professions Act, 2002 (Act 36 of 2002). The Association promotes values of transparency, engagement, advocacy and transformation. The Association acts as a body to disseminate information, facilitate continued professional development and represent consulting planners in conversations about public processes, and legislation, with relevant authorities at the National, Provincial and Local levels.”
