Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association of South Africa (CTFA)

The Cosmetic, Toiletry & Fragrance Association of South Africa (CTFA) was formed in 1994 when it became evident that no matter how strong individual companies in the personal care sector were, they needed a united force for a stronger effect if they were to achieve their business and marketing goals. Since inception, the purpose of the CTFA has been to guide Members on the South African Regulatory Codes of Practice and Standards and to ensure that the cosmetic and personal care industry flourishes. The CTFA works with the industry sector, the South African Bureau of Standards, Department of Health, Department of Trade and Industry and international accredited bodies to ensure alignment for a responsible industry in South Africa.

Congress of South Africa Trade Unions (COSATU)

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) was launched in December 1985 after four years of unity talks between unions opposed to apartheid and committed to a non-racial, non-sexist and democratic South Africa. At our launch we represented less than half a million workers organised in 33 unions. We currently have more than two million workers, of whom at least 1.8 million are paid up. Even by international standards we have been among the fastest growing trade union movements in the world. Today when most trade unions are facing a decline in membership, we have continued to grow.
