The SA Institute of Valuers (SAIV) was founded in 1909 as the national society of professional real estate valuers.

The objective of the SAIV is to promote the common interests of persons carrying out the valuers’ profession.

It is a voluntary professional organisation, and its purpose is to look after members’ interests. Today, SAIV represents more than 50% of registered valuers in South Africa.
