The mission and general objectives of the SA Akademie Vir Wetenskap & Kuns are the promotion of science, technology and literature in Afrikaans and the arts, as well as the promotion of the use and quality of Afrikaans (primarily within South Africa). Furthermore, it also involves the provision of service to society. This multidisciplinary organization, which seeks to serve the interests of all South Africans, strives for excellence, fairness, high scientific, moral and democratic values.
