Its membership consists of District Associations, Associates and other organizations who are or interested in the sport of basketball in the Province. WC Basketball is affiliated to the South African national basketball federation, Basketball South Africa, and Western Cape Provincial Sport Confederation. Western Cape Basketball Association organizes competitions, player, coach and technical officials training to assist members to participate in basketball. As member of Basketball South Africa it selects teams to participate in national basketball events some of which are aligned with the international basketball federation (FIBA).
