SAKA are the officially registered South African branch of the Japan Karate Association (日本空手協会; Nihon Karate Kyokai) founded on May 27, 1949. SA JKA is the largest group of JKA karate practitioners in the world outside Japan. Their grades are recognised internationally and in Japan. Their senseis train at the infamous Honbu in Tokyo as often as possible to ensure that standards remain at the highest level.
Membership to the Association is open to all Companies which have been allocated a Right to fish for hake by longline method pursuant to Section 18 of the Marine Living Resources Act and all vessel owning entities active in the hake longline sector.
As the recognized hake longline body in South Africa, they are unsurpassed in terms of our membership and credentials. A solid foundation has been developed and will continue to be built upon in the years to come.

Continue reading →The broad functions or purpose of the Council are to conclude collective agreements for the local government sector and enforce such collective agreements and to provide a dispute resolution function for the local government sector. This bargaining council is a registered government bargaining council. The SALGBC is established voluntarily in terms of the Labour Relations Act, by agreement between the employer organization (SALGA) and trade unions parties (IMATU and SAMWU). This agreement is contained in the Council’s Constitution (a collective agreement), which is the fundamental governing instrument that regulates the relationship between the employer organization and the trade union parties, to be read in conjunction with the Labour Relations Act.
