| The Institute for Maritime Technology (IMT) was established in 1975 and is a division of Armscor SOC Ltd. It is a multi-disciplinary ISO 9001 2015 division specialising in Techno-military research and development, as well as specialised products and services. IMT provides services to the SANDF (primarily to the SA Navy), government departments, defence industry, the broader maritime community and other clients as part of its commercial initiatives. World class capabilities are focused in the following technology areas: Underwater Security, Naval Systems Sub-Surface, Underwater Sensors and Signatures, Naval Systems Above Water, Naval Electro-Optics, Maritime Electro-Magnetics, Maritime Domain Awareness, Environmental Characterisation, Decision Support and Flagship Programmes (e.g. Ultrasonic Broken Rail Detection). |
